Incredibly, seventeen years have passed since my first post here. My passion for food, however, has only intensified — even if the post count hasn’t kept up.
That changes now.
So what's in store? A rich mix of flavourful, nutritious, and heart-warming recipes and reflections. I’ll be sharing videos on Instagram and TikTok, while using this blog to dive deeper into the photos, recipes, tools, and the science behind the food.
About a year ago, I began exploring time-restricted eating — sometimes called intermittent fasting — mainly to support digestive health and lose weight. I now consume all my nutrients in a 4–6 hour eating window most days.
Unexpectedly, it’s increased my enjoyment of food and sparked a deep interest in nutrition science. At 60, I’m in the best shape I’ve been in decades — physically and mentally.
Along the way, I built my own macro-tracker spreadsheet in Excel, so many of the recipes I share will include their nutritional profiles.
Here’s an example of one of my go-to 'fast-breakers' — usually eaten around 4 or 5pm:
Tuna, mixed beans, home-fermented yogurt (with a bespoke mix of rare microbes), homemade chilli preserve, and a drizzle of olive oil.
Quick to prepare, deliciously satisfying, and macro-friendly:
Thanks for visiting - I'm excited to share what's next. :)
